The rules in brief

On joining: 27 days plus 8 public holidays
After 5 years' NHS service: 29 days plus 8 public holidays
After 10 years' NHS service: 33 days plus 8 public holidays

Part-time staff get the same entitlement pro rata to their hours. Because bank holidays are included in the hours total, people who don't normally work on bank holidays book them from their allowance like any other day off.
